Subject: 2026 OX-5 National Gathering Announcement

It’s my pleasure to announce that in 2026 on August 28th and 29th, you are invited to join us at the Beechcraft Heritage Museum in Tullahoma, TN for a National Gathering of OX-5 Aviation Pioneers Members.  This long overdue event will allow you to enjoy seeing longtime friends and making new ones, all while visiting one of the hidden gems of Middle Tennessee, the Beechcraft Heritage Museum (https://beechcrafthm.org/).

Walter Beech and the OX-5 engine are connected by the Travel Air airplane.  Travel Air Manufacturing was an aircraft manufacturer established in Wichita, Kansas by Beech, Clyde Cessna, and Lloyd Stearman. You’ll see the first Travel Air ever produced which is powered by an OX-5.

The event will include guided tours of the museum, presentations of museum restorations, lunch both days, and fellowship time.  With Tullahoma’s location being close to Lynchburg, TN, you’ll have the opportunity to visit the home of Jack Daniels Distillery and the quaint town of Lynchburg.

The museum is located at the Tullahoma Municipal Airport (KTHA).  For those who would like to fly their own aircraft to the event, parking space and refueling will be available next to the museum.  Car rental reservations will be available on-site.

A block of rooms at a local Tullahoma hotel will be reserved for the event with details to follow in future communications.

I look forward to hosting you in my adopted home state and promise you’ll find the Beechcraft Heritage Museum to be an educational and entertaining venue.

Finally, in order to gauge the amount of potential participation, I ask that you please reply to this email with a best guess of your attendance at the event.  This response in no way commits you.  It is solely to begin estimating how many might attend.  If you believe you might or will attend, please include the number of attendees in your party.
