Old Business: There was no old business.
New Business:
Financial Signature Authority Updates – Four members will have signature authority on the PNC accounts. They are Greg Gaynor, Patty Wagner, Jim Beisner, and Russ Berry. Wagner, Beisner, and Berry reside locally in Troy, OH where PNC has a local branch office. These updates were executed following this meeting on 7/11/25.
Nomination of Don Voland to OX5 Hall of Fame – It was unanimously agreed to posthumously induct Don Voland into the OX5 Hall of Fame. Greg Gaynor is working with the Glenn Curtiss Museum in Hammondsport NY to add Don’s name to the HOF wall display located at the museum. Greg will also have an individual honoree plaque created to be presented to Don’s family at a future date.
2026 National Meeting Proposal – Greg Gaynor proposed that a National OX5 Meeting be held in 2026 at the Beechcraft Heritage Museum (BHM) in Tullahoma TN. Although the specific dates are to be determined, tentatively late August dates have been suggested. The BHM houses the first Travel Air (S/N 1) powered by an OX5 engine. Travel Air was founded by Walter Beech, Clyde Cessna, and Lloyd Stearman in 1925.
Mass Mailing To Membership – Jim Beisner and Dennis Yerkey suggested that a physical mailing be made to the membership to serve two purposes. First, it would serve as a concrete way of determining that our database has up to date mailing addresses. Second, it would assure our membership that they are indeed valued by the board. Finally, the mailing would include a short questionnaire to allow their input and determine what regional OX5 Wings are still active. Greg Gaynor will lead the communications development.
Call To Adjourn – A motion to adjourn was made by Greg Gaynor and seconded by Dennis Yerkey at 10:50am. Our next meeting is to be determined.
