Message from the President

Tim Pinkerton, Prea

President’s Message:

Hello to all members,

We have been very busy here at OX-5 National Office.

Number one on the list: The scholarship program, which due to some personal support by the membership, is growing. We were able to give two $1000.00 scholarships, two $250 and a fun camper scholarship for $250.00.
I think this is a great thing for us to do and seems to be well liked by the membership. Anyone that would like to support this effort please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. There seems to be a growing population that have heard about the our wonderful scholarship program. These students also will be given a membership as part
of the award. Well done to all that supported this program!

So there, friends! We are changing lives!
P.S. Our very own Gov. Dennis Yerkey will be presenting the checks to the students in PA. Thanks you Dennis for doing this and spreading the word of OX-5.

Number two on the list: Sun and Fun!
We had a great few days running the OX-5 engine at the beautiful Midwest Florida Wing Oasis. If you have never been there it is quite a treat. People starting coming in around 7:30 am to start making coffee and food for the day. I know I gained 15 lbs. Every time I walked by there was something new to try. I walked by many times!!!! Wayne Gordon was always on the move making sure every one was welcome. Jim Beisner did a great job running the Engine and talking to the people that would gather when every time it was run.
Patty Wagner was voted in as Governor and also is doing a wonderful job as office manager.  Thank you Patty, you have been a blessing.
Again well done all of you!

Number three on the list: EAA Oshkosh!

Our own Don Voland was at Vintage circle running the Wisconson Wing’s Engine. I was at three of the shows and Don did a great job fielding the many questions that came after the running of the engine. This engine was built by our very own Jim “Mr. OX-5” Beisner! Thanks Don for doing this. It was a hit. Also for spending many hours talking to hundreds of people in the type building.  Great job!
Number four on the list: The WACO 10!

Jim Beisner, Russ Berry and I have been working on her for several years.  She is ready to fly as we passed the inspection last week!
