Meet Texas Newsletter Editor

Meet the Texas Wing Newsletter Editor

Since the passing of George Vose,  John McCrory has taken over the duties as
editor of the Texas Wing Newsletter.  With a chuckle, John claims Vose
volunteered him military style.

Originally from Amherst, TX, John and wife, Marilyn, moved to TX in 2003 and
are now living in Marfa, TX, which is mountain desert country.

John is 79 and has been flying since he was 17.  He is a retired commercial pilot
who has accumulated 24,000 hours in a variety of transport airplanes such as the
Douglas DC-7, Lockheed Electra, Convair 990 and many hours in Boeing 737s.

He is also the proud owner of a 1947 Piper PA12 Super Cruiser with only 1800 hrs
on the airframe.  He completely rebuilt the PA12 in 2000.

With a long standing interest in aviation history, John has contributed to the Texas
Wing Newsletter since 2012.  Check the website under Newsletters to view the
recent Wing newsletters he has published.  To quote John, “It is my hope that
publishing four newsletters a year will create interest and keep the Texas Wing
active”.
