OX5 Ohio Wing
OX5 Ohio Wing

A message from Jim Beisner, Pres Ohio Wing

The Ohio Wing held their meeting at WACO Field Troy Ohio, on the 24th of April where a great time time was had by all.

Members are standing if front of  Miss McKeesport, which in great shape and ready to fly.

She just needs a little air in the tires, water in the radiator and some low octane fuel.

How about a good pilot, Jim?

We want to announce that the Ohio Wing again awarded 2 scholarships.

For the Wing….my best to you’all.    See you at Oshkosh.

CBW WING JULY NEWS

The Cliff Ball Wing held a membership meeting at Finleyville Airport on July 11, 2011. The meeting was held in Jim Kirk’s hangar in the foreground of his beautifully restored Waco UPF-7.  There were thirteen members and guest in attendance.  The major items for discussion were the Latrobe Air Show, the National Reunion, fundraising projects for CBW, and Wing projects.

CBW is contemplating having Wing shirts made with the OX5 logo and the Wing name. If this comes to fruition it might be possible to provide other wings with similar shirts.

Another project given serious consideration at this meeting was the restoration of an OX5 powered airplane.  The CBW has the enthusiasm, facilities, and expertise to do a restoration such as was done with the Miss Pittsburgh Air Mail airplane which presently hangs in the airside terminal of the Pittsburgh International Airport.

Preparations were made to attend the Latrobe Air Show and the National Reunion in Hammondsport, NY.  After the adjournment of the meeting, member Harry Bochter conducted a tour of Finleyville Airport where airplanes are being built and restored. Harry is more than midway through the construction of his “Finleyville Flyer”.  Also, the meeting group thanked Harry for providing the luncheon for this meeting.
